2018 BMW Trail Race Series Run To The Rock 10K, 5K or 2.5K Trail Races

2018 BLUE MOUNTAIN WILDLIFE TRAIL RACE SERIES
“Run To The Rock”  10K, 5K OR 2.5K TRAIL RACES

WHAT: A 10K, 5K or 2.5K Trail Race.
The challenging 10K course starts on the Etchberger Trail at the Hamburg Community Park. It runs south to the old Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge, crosses the Schuylkill River and continues onto the Therman Madiera Switchback running north along the west bank of the Schuylkill. The course continues through the Desilting Basin on the Cabela's Wetlands Trail to the Monument Parking Lot, then turns north onto Kernsville Dam Road and continues to the Lowlands Trail. It continues on the Lowlands Trail along the Schuylkill River to the Kernsville Dam, where it continues north on Kernsville Dam Road to the Pulpit Rock Trail. It continues north along the Schuylkill River to "The Rock", where it doubles back to the Kernsville Dam Road, to the Therman Madiera Switchback and the Etchberger Trail, finishing at the Hamburg Community Park. Race length is 10 kilometers and change in elevation is about 50 feet.
The 5K course starts in the parking lot of the Hamburg Community Park and runs to the Etchberger Trail, and then runs south to the old Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge, crosses the Schuylkill River and continues onto the Therman Madiera Switchback running north along the west bank of the Schuylkill. The course loops through the Desilting Basin on the Cabela's Wetlands Trail and Cut-Off Trail back to the Therman Madiera Switchback and the Etchberger Trail, finishing at the Hamburg Community Park. Race length is 5 kilometers and change in elevation is about 25 feet.
The 2.5K course starts in the parking lot of the Hamburg Community Park and runs to the Etchberger Trail, and then runs south to the old Pennsylvania Railroad Bridge, crosses the Schuylkill River and continues onto the Therman Madiera Switchback running north along the west bank of the Schuylkill. The course doubles back at the I-78 Bridge and retraces its path along the Therman Madiera Switchback and the Etchberger Trail, finishing at the Hamburg Community Park. Race length is 2.5 kilometers and change in elevation is about 25 feet.
This event is the third and final event in the series of three race events. All BMW Trail Races Series Races have great courses; registrant goodie bags; cash prizes for the fastest male and female racers in the long races and a generous slate of awards for all races; a deejay providing post-race entertainment; plenty of drinks, fruit and baked goodies to replenish the body; post-race activities for the kids; free hot lunch for all participants and volunteers; door prize drawings; and plenty of Trail Race Series and BMW gear for purchase.

WHEN: Saturday June 23, 2018
Registration: 8:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.
Race Start: 9:00 a.m.
WHERE: Hamburg Community Park, Second and Island Streets, Hamburg, PA
Directions: From the east and west, take I-78 to Exit 30 Hamburg. Turn south onto 4th Street and continue 4 blocks south. One block before the first traffic light, turn RIGHT onto Island Street. Continue 2 blocks to the Hamburg Community Park. Look for signs and volunteers.
From the north and south, take PA Route 61 to Hamburg. Turn north onto 4th Street and continue 9 blocks north through Hamburg. One block after the second traffic light, turn LEFT onto Island Street. Continue 2 blocks to the Hamburg Community Park. Look for signs and volunteers.

WHO: Anyone can participate.
Prices for the 5-Mile Race: $20.00 if received by June 21, 2018, $25.00 after June 21, 2018

Prizes for the 10K Race: Individual 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Prizes for both males and females awarded in the following age categories: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and over 60. $25 Grand Prize for the fastest Individual male and female time will be awarded.
Prizes for the 5K Race: Individual 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Prizes for both males and females awarded in the following age categories: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and over 60.
Prizes for the 2K Race: Individual 1st Place Prizes for both males and females awarded in the following age categories: 0-9, 10-15, 16-32, 33-49 and over 50.

WEATHER: Races are rain or shine. Races may be postponed for a few hours only if violent weather threatens.
